Have you always wanted to explore painting or improve the skills you already have? Villa Monestevole 501 hosts two Art Weeks each year which might be exactly what you’re looking for!

Guided by a seasoned English-speaking instructor, classes are thoughtfully designed to draw inspiration from Italy's cultural heritage and landscapes. Whether sketching in the shade of olive groves or painting the vibrant hues of an Umbrian sunset, students will also have the opportunity to try out their new and/or improved skills outside of the classroom.

Set against the backdrop of picturesque landscapes and architecture, this creative journey is designed to include a daily art class AND all the other things that make Italy an exceptional place to visit including food and wine tours, Umbrian city tours, and a cooking class to round out the week’s cultural adventures. We believe this week provides not just skill enhancement, but a profound connection with the soul-stirring beauty that defines Umbria.

Please note: Our Art for Art’s Sake Weeks are best for those who are new to painting or are intermediate artists. Typically, our instructors use watercolors and acrylics. This week is not intended for those who want an immersive week of art lessons and art history.  There are several wonderful options available for those types of experiences that you can find by exploring this website.

Class size is limited to no more than eight and no fewer than two participants each week. When the students are not on a field trip the art classes are held in “Atelier 501” on the grounds of Villa Monestevole 501.
